Energy Assistance Programs to Help With Winter Heating Bills

The winter season is fast approaching and there are energy assistance programs available to help with your heating bills.  Easton Utilities provides a level billing plan allowing residential customers to spread energy cost out evenly throughout the year.  You may enroll in the plan at any time after having service for at least 12 months.  There are also limited income programs such as; Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP), Utility Service Protection Program (USPP), and Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP).  To learn more about these programs contact the Neighborhood Service Center, 126 Port Street at (410) 763-6745.  Other assistance may be obtained from the Talbot County Social Services, 301 Bay Street, Suite 5 at (410)770-4848.
